Yes, we are Beautiful, Intelligent, Successful and Strong. However, that doesn't mean that life is always filled with berries and roses. Factually speaking,it's far from bliss at times. Sit back and dive into a good read, with your good sis. Lets talk about the Hard Knocks of being a Femme Boss.
It's an Uphill Battle
Being the first entrepreneur in my social sphere I have had to fight for my cause at every angle. Don't get me wrong, my family and friends are very supportive. Unfortunately, sometimes its difficult for others to support something that they can't see just yet. After all, your vision, is your vision. Life as a Femme Boss comes with a lot of explaining, and even more misunderstanding. This can leave us feeling alienated, with no one to turn to at times. This is why it is so important to surround yourself with like-minded people. More importantly, surround yourself with people who genuinely want to see you win. As a Femme Boss you have no time or energy for unnecessary conflict. it's a poor investment.
Our Independence is a Blessing and a Curse
A certain level of independence is a requirement in any leadership role. If you're a female entrepreneur, go ahead and multiply that by 3. If your black, may the force be with you. As we all know, powerful women are often shamed for being too independent and opinionated. Realistically speaking we don't have a choice. Being in an authoritative position has the same requirements regardless of genders. Unfortunately, women often catch the heat for stepping up to the plate. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, so I say do it! Do it long, do it hard and do it with a smile. #Savage. Seriously, the best thing you can do is embrace who you are and be aware of how the world may perceive you. As long hold your integrity high and keep standing up for whats right, you're an eternal winner!
Am I the only one have trouble finding a man worth my energy? I'm asking friend or 10! I call it a catch 22. We follow all the dating rules, know your worth, set your boundaries blah, blah, blah.Yet and still, so many toads kissed and no prince in sight. There was a time when I absolutely dreaded the single life. The guys that I were meeting had a tough time accepting that I was not there for their money. This meant that dating me actually required them to put thought and effort into the connection. I couldn't be bought and that was far from the norm for many men. Therefore they failed miserably, some risked not trying at all to avoid the possibility of rejection. Honestly, It was a tough time. Things turned around for me when I realized that being single was my time to learn and enjoy myself. As I truly got to know myself, it was easier to determine what wasn't acceptable for me in a partner. Therefore there was no time wasted and no love lost. This is when Self Care comes into play. We all need that alone time to learn what it is that truly makes us feel good. After all, if we aren't treating ourselves with love and care, what are we teaching our partners to do?
